Hello all,

I am cutting June's blog fine! Haha.

Where do I begin? It has been a busy month across work, business, and personal life.

As I have mentioned in previous blogs, one of my biggest focuses has been strengthening the back-end systems and financials of the business. Without clarity and accurate numbers behind the scenes, we can't make informed, data-driven decisions. It may sound obvious, but this has been quite the process and an area I have been learning a great deal about.

Over the past month, I've taken a deep dive into Shopify, integrations, Xero, inventory, COGS, costing spreadsheets, and building a financial workflow that provides a solid foundation for growth as we move into the new financial year.

After getting everything to the best of my current ability, there was still plenty that needed refining. A few weeks earlier, a friend mentioned that if I ever needed support with bookkeeping, I should reach out. I eventually reached that point, and I am incredibly grateful that I did.

A huge thank you to Mandy, who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes. She has reviewed every part of the system in depth, identified and corrected significant errors, and built an entirely new inventory system. We've had several conversations about workflows already, and I have learnt so much from her knowledge and experience.

There is still plenty to learn, but we are moving in the right direction, and for that I am incredibly grateful.

In other news, this month I had the opportunity to collaborate with Dua Bakehouse in the vibrant suburb of Collingwood. It has been such a wonderful experience, and Raymond has been incredibly supportive, doing everything he can to help promote Kacie Jae's. I truly appreciate the opportunity.

Over the month, we featured my Spiced Pumpkin, Maple & Pecan Granola on the menu, served alongside warm spiced apples, creamy yoghurt, crisp julienne apple, and a drizzle of maple syrup. Together, we also rolled out a range of supporting promotional activities, including online content, a pop-up in-store tasting, and promotional material displayed throughout the café.

It has been one of my favourite collaborations to date, not only because of the beautiful menu item we created together, but because of the genuine support and enthusiasm shown throughout the entire partnership. Experiences like these remind me just how valuable it is to collaborate with businesses that truly believe in what you're building.

Alongside this, my mentor sessions have remained a significant source of value. Recent sessions have focused on cleaner financial management, stronger inventory systems, improved customer retention, email acquisition, better decision-making, and creating more personal stability. As these foundations become stronger, our focus is beginning to shift more heavily towards business development, financial management, operational structure, long-term planning, and strategic decision-making. That transition is something I am genuinely excited about.

On a personal level, I have also been working through challenges across relationships, mental health, and financial stability. As difficult as some of these experiences have been, they have taught me valuable lessons that ultimately flow back into the business.

There have certainly been moments over the past month where it felt as though every challenge arrived at once. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed when multiple areas of life demand your attention all at the same time.

One of the greatest reminders my mentor has given me is that our perspective matters. Challenges aren't always roadblocks; often they are opportunities to become clearer. Clearer on what we want, clearer on the direction we're heading, clearer on the standards we need to uphold, and clearer on the areas where we still have work to do.

Growth rarely comes from comfort, and while these moments are not always enjoyable, they are often the ones that shape us the most.

As I strengthen each area of my life, I am also strengthening the foundations on which this business is built. A strong foundation is non-negotiable if we want to build something extraordinary, and none of us gets there without doing the uncomfortable work.

If I were to summarise this month in one word, it would be hardening.

I have been working through challenges, finding solutions, asking for support when I need it, and remaining committed to becoming better each day.

I am incredibly grateful to have such impactful mentors, friends, and family in my life.

As we enter the second half of the year, my focus remains the same: strengthening the foundations across every area of life and business.

Before I finish, I want to leave you with one final thought.

From the very beginning of this blog, I promised that I would do my best to share the real, unfiltered version of this journey. The highs, the lows, the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between.

As I look back over the first half of this year, I can already see how much has changed. Not just within the business, but within myself. The challenges have shaped me just as much as the wins have. They have challenged my thinking, strengthened my resilience, and reminded me that growth rarely comes from comfort.

When we look back in years to come, I hope these blogs tell the story not only of building a business, but of building the person capable of leading it.

Thank you for following along, supporting Kacie Jae's, and allowing me to share this journey with you. It means more than you know.

Here's to the second half of 2026.

Warmly,

Kacie
